Packages and Pricing
Festival arrangements are not left to chance. A tried and tested partnership of national and local government, Scottish Rugby, clubs and sporting ambassadors forms a Local Organising Committee to work in partnership with the Golden Oldies Rugby Secretariat.

The following Scottish agencies will be actively involved and provide the necessary skills, expertise, contacts and commitment:

  • Scottish Rugby Union
  • EventScotland
  • City of Edinburgh Council
  • Visit Scotland
  • Scottish Enterprise - Edinburgh and Lothian
  • Edinburgh Convention Bureau

The visitors' accommodation packages also include:

  • Three days of Rugby.
  • Participation in the Opening Ceremony at Edinburgh Castle and Parade of Nations.
  • Seven night's accommodation. Your team chooses the level and category of accommodation it wants.
  • Welcome upon arrival.
  • One team transfer to/from your hotel on your Edinburgh arrival and departure.
  • A cooked breakfast every morning in hotels, university and hostels. Continental breakfast in the Ibis Hotel. (Breakfast not provided in apartments).
  • Return coach transfers to all three social functions.
  • A full shuttle service on the three match days between all hotels and the playing venues.
    • Official social functions, meals and drinks as listed
    • Welcome Party - three hours of finger food, unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks with entertainment.
    • The Highland Fling day out - entertainment, displays of Scottish Highland games, lunch, unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks.
    • The Grand Finale Dinner. A three-course dinner plus coffee/tea. Unlimited beer, wine, soft drinks with music, entertainment, awards and dancing.

Local Packages

A special package will be available for members of Scotland's permanently-resident teams based in Scotland. It will include tickets to the Opening Ceremony, Welcome Party and a Festival souvenir, but will not include the Grand Finale Dinner or accommodation or transport.

If preferred, local teams can take a visitor's package. In that instance it will be necessary to book it through the ground operator, Gullivers Sports Travel, so transport to the grounds and social functions can be co-ordinated.

Opening PDFs in Internet Explorer 6.0

If problems arise when opening a document within Internet Explorer, try changing the browser configuration:

  • Close the IE6 browser
  • Go to the Start menu on your computer, choose > Acrobat Reader
  • From the Edit Menu in Acrobat Reader, choose Preferences > Internet
  • Uncheck the "Display PDF in Browser" box in the Web Browser Options section and click OK

The PDF file should now automatically open in the Acrobat Reader.
Air New Zealand documents are in Adobe PDF format and may require Adobe Reader to view.
To install Adobe Reader, simply click on the icon to the left.
